MA - Access Northeast Pipeline Forum
To confront the proposed "Q1 Loop " extension — part of Spectra Energy's Access Northeast pipeline project — No Sharon Gas Pipeline is hosting a forum in Sharon, MA on Thursday, April 7 at 7PM at the Sharon High School Auditorium, 181 Pond Street. We hope you can attend the forum featuring a panel discussion of representatives from the MA Attorney General's office, the Conservation Law Foundation, the Dedham Zoning Board of Appeals, StopNed, and the Toxics Action Center. For more information visit NoSharonGasPipeline.org/ANEForum or Facebook.com/NoSharonGasPipeline.
Increased natural gas infrastructure in Massachusetts threatens our sustainable future, and is strongly opposed by Massachusetts Attorney General, Maura Healey. Not only does the proposed 30-inch high-pressure gas pipeline bring environmental and safety concerns, but it also includes an unprecedented tariff on utility ratepayers to fund the $3 billion project.
Part of the Access Northeast project, The Q1 loop is 21.3 miles of pipeline and affects Franklin, Medway, Bellingham, Norfolk, Millis, Walpole, Sharon, Canton, and Stoughton. We hope you can attend to learn how the pipeline would affect these towns and the state, why it's not needed, and what you can do to stop it.
The Forum's panel discussion will include:
- Christophe Courchesne, Assistant Attorney General
o Chief, Environmental Protection Division
o Office of Attorney General Maura Healey
- Caitlin Peale Sloan, Staff Attorney
o Conservation Law Foundation, Massachusetts
- Jessica Porter, Member
o Dedham Zoning Board of Appeals
o Accidental pipeline activist
- Cathy Kristofferson, Co-founder
