CA - South Bay team celebrates and meets to plan the next steps!

The South Bay Mothers Out Front team gathered for a planning meeting on Sunday, June 25th. Fresh off their first campaign victory (getting the San Jose City Council to vote for Community Choice Energy), the moms strategized how to grow their team, how to support new teams to get started in nearby communities, and what new campaign(s) to embark on. The enthusiasm was palpable!

The South Bay Mothers Out Front team, represented by Linda Hutchins-Knowles, met with CA State Senator Jim Beall last week to discuss key climate initiatives in the State legislature, ask the Senator to support SB775 to improve CA’s signature cap and trade law—without the changes proposed by the oil industry—and urge him to take the “No Oil Money” pledge. Senator Beall agreed to sign the pledge!
