Tell the EPA, No More Health Hazards

On Jul 2 from 12pm-2pm ET / 9am-11am PT, we will raise our voices across the country and demand the EPA keeps us free from pollution.

Here’s what you can do.

  • Log on to Twitter on July 2 between 12pm and 2pm ET / 9am and 11am PT.
  • Create a tweet that reminds the EPA it’s their job to protect human health. Let them know they aren’t doing their job if they won’t monitor oil and gas emissions and hold fossil fuel companies accountable to fixing harmful leaks.
  • Include an ask to your state’s Attorney General to join this demand or if they already have, thank them
    • States and areas that have done this are California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and the District of Columbia, as well as the City of Chicago, the City and County of Denver, and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
  • Tag @EPAAWheeler, @EPA, @MothersOutFront, and your Attorney General
  • Include the hashtags #DirtyAirEPADontCare and #FreedomFromPollution
  • Post a picture of yourself with a mask, holding a sign, both OR one of the memes below
  • Search the hashtag #FreedomFromPollution and like and retweet what you see from your fellow activists

Talking Points

     • Communities of color are more exposed to fossil fuel pollution and related health impacts.
              - 68% of Black Americans live within 30 miles of a coal plant.
              - More than 1.81 M Latinos live within a half-mile of oil and gas facilities.
  • Keep our air clean and our lungs protected. Monitor emission sources.
  • We don’t need any more health hazards this year. Keep us free from air pollution
  • Air pollution makes us more vulnerable to respiratory diseases like COVID-19.
  • We all deserve to be free from pollution.
  • AGs: We need you to speak up for our lungs.
