NY - Clean Energy Standard Hearing - Albany
Get offshore wind into the Clean Energy Standard in New York!
Here's some background information from our friends at the Sierra Club about why this hearing is important:
"Governor Cuomo recently established a new 'Clean Energy Standard' that aims to have 50 percent of the state's energy come from renewables by 2030. We need to make sure this new goal is enforceable--that it actually compels utilities to purchase renewables--and that it includes a specific commitment to large-scale offshore wind development. Without any real teeth, the new Standard won't live up to its promises. And without an offshore wind commitment, New York will miss out on a massive untapped renewable resource that could create thousands of new jobs."
Join Mothers Out Front and our allies to let our policy makers know that now is the time to make a swift and just transition away from dirty fossil fuels and toward clean renewable energy.

We need to:
- Set aggressive energy efficient goals
- Ensure in-state, locally-owned, and community-owned renewable energy production
- Ensure energy affordability
- Support offshore wind
