Today, a WIN for a healthy Long Island environment and sustainable future as our team in Huntington visited Senator Todd Kaminsky to thank him for introducing Senate bill S2683!
As part of support for the bill, our volunteers also delivered constituent-signed post cards in favor of the bill. Senate Bill S2683 guarantees research on the health impact of 1,4-Dioxane, a cancer-causing agent commonly found in household products, and establishes a maximum allowable level of its presence in our public water supplies. While this is not our focus, safe drinking water is at the core of our values and our children's health, and we hope to see it pass in the next legislative session.
