"Volunteer Leslie Schwartz is collecting signatures on postcards calling on state senators to support the Bakken Surety Bill, S1515. Why is Leslie so concerned? She lives quite close to the railroad tracks! She started with a few postcards and asked the people she happened to meet each day to sign. Then she reached out to her neighborhood list serve and got lots more signatures. She plays in an orchestra, so she's emailing fellow musicians the day before rehearsal about the issue and bringing the cards with her. She'll have them with her at services at her synagogue. Leslie is a quiet activist who's demonstrating how much we can accomplish when we reach out to the people we know to ask for support on issues that affect our community."
