Mothers Out Front Long Island teams up with 11-year old author and climate advocate Andrea Wilson of Huntington, NY for #FridaysForFuture!
Eleven-year-old Andrea Wilson won the Gold Award for the Voices of Future Generations (VoFG) contest with her book Sarah’s Journey for Tomorrow in 2018 to become that year’s Child Author for Europe and North America. Her mom, Sandra Wilson, fully supports her advocacy work.
Andrea used Twitter and Facebook to kick off her initial #FridaysForFuture event on May 3, 2019 @12 noon in front of the Starbucks on Main Street in Huntington. Mothers Out Front team members Jennifer Rogers-Brown and Billii Roberti found it impossible not to join her there and at two subsequent rallies.
Andrea now plans in the near future to organize a rally outside Town Hall before a Town Board meeting where she will address them on her environmental concerns and to urge them to take more, and more constructive action.
Here they are May 24. Andrea is holding the sign “MORE ACTION, LESS CHEMCIAL REACTION.” We chanted “One Earth, One Chance.”
